Hey guys. I decided that today I would take a break from product reviews and news to talk about something a bit closer to all the hearts of MMA fans everywhere. Today is the one year anniversary of the death of Charles “Mask” Lewis who’s life was tragically cut short in a motor accident due to a drunk driver. Those who don’t follow MMA heavily may not recognize the name immediately, but I would bet money that you would if you saw him walking down the street any day of the week with his unique style of dress and make up. If for some reason you don’t even recognize the man, then there is no doubt that you would recognize the logo of the MMA product giant that we have come to know as Tapout, to which Mask and his two close friends Punk-ass and Skyscrape are the company founders. The MMA product industry has come to see the works of many different visionaries over the years, but there is no doubt that Tapout is the brand that started it all. Mask’s personality was addicting and the positive energy that came from him was unparalleled. It seemed that nothing could ever get him down. His work and life is an inspiration to us all to pursue what makes us happy and to not let anything stop us. Even when faced with the worst failure you can imagine, just remember one simple word and that is “believe”. This word is synonymous with Mask’s legacy to those in the MMA world that will always love and miss him, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
